tax collected upto 31st March by 31st March Service Tax Assessee : But please explain how
can be it possible? Officer : I don’t know how you will do
but you have to comply yourself.

booking agents and leader of Goods Transport Agency association.
GTA: Yaar, I am very much
disappointed after imposing levy on goods transport agents.
Leader: Why so? GTA: because first it is very confusing; second,
if I charge Service tax on bills then freight cost to consignor
or consignee will increase due to Service tax. In that case
I loose my business as it costs more to customers. Day to day
my business is going down Leader: You are a fool. Don’t worry,
Government will not do anything. We will get one Committee after
the other till it is completely withdrawn. You see, we are now
lobbying with left also.
What will be the impact if Service Tax is
levied on advocates?
Here are some possible interesting reactions
Advocates/lawyers will go on strike.
Nothing will happen
Increase of litigation cases and business
People in Services / judiciary / bureaucracy will get discouraged
to join the practice after retirement
It will become more confusing than business auxiliary services
or goods transport agency services

the election campaign confronted by the press reporters.
One reporter : What is
your main agenda for this election.? Leader : We are always at the Service of public.
This time also we are contesting the election on the merit of
our services during the last 5 years. Another reporter: Beware sir, for using the
word ‘Service’. If the Finance Minister hears this
he may levy Service tax on politicians as a new category of
service, in the next Budget.
